TEEN LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

Cultivating the Next Generation of Leaders

For Valley Leadership, cultivating the next generation of leaders begins during the teenage years.  Through Valley Teen Leadership, our core young leader development program, and other strategic partnerships, Valley Leadership is educating teens about our community, helping them develop leadership skills and inspiring them to get actively involved in their community.

Valley Teen Leadership

Valley Teen Leadership has been in existence for over 15 years. Valley Teen Leadership was created to cultivate a next generation of leaders by offering teens the opportunity to develop leadership skills.  This program engages 50 Valley teens in an annual multi-month program that provides education about community issues, develops leadership skills through motivational and inspirational activities, and offers opportunities to develop lasting, positive relationships.  The program is open at all high school sophomores and juniors throughout the Valley.

Applications are accepted during the Fall of each year, selection is made through written essays and personal interviews in December, and the program runs from January through May the following year. Click here for the 2012 program application, and find the reference form here.

"I got 50 new friends out of Valley Teen Leadership.  We all came together to talk about real issues and how we could help solve them, making it an incredibly meaningful experience for our entire class."

Jennifer, VTL Class XI

"Valley Teen Leadership is about creating powerful friendships and really looking at how you personally can impact the community.  It was really motivating to be with a group of teens who truly care about making a difference."

Juilian, VTL Class XI
