VALLEY LEADERSHIP ANNOUNCES ALISON RAPPING AS NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
PHOENIX–The Valley Leadership Board of Directors announced today Alison Rapping as the newly appointed Executive Director of the local non-profit leadership development organization. A search committee, led by Catherine “Rusty” Foley of SRP, identified Rapping through a three-month process supported by the executive search firm, Duffy Consulting.
“We are extremely fortunate to have someone of Alison’s professional caliber taking over the Executive Director role at Valley Leadership,” said Foley, Valley Leadership Board Chair. “She is a proven visionary leader in the non-profit sector with a track record of building strong organizations.”
Rapping brings nearly 15 years public sector experience to her leadership role at Valley Leadership. Although recent leadership positions included being the executive director of The Amblyopia Foundation of America, Inc. and Chief Executive Officer of the Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits, the bulk of Rapping’s career was invested growing the local Make a Difference chapter from an organization with assets of $35,000 to more than $1.1 million during her tenure. A past Legislative Fellow with the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington D.C., she is also a Class XX Valley Leadership graduate.
“Valley Leadership’s role in deepening understanding of key community issues and opportunities as well as cultivating the next generation of community leaders is extremely motivating,” comments Rapping. “I am extremely passionate about strengthening our community and am excited about helping make this great organization even better.”
Rapping officially takes the helm on August 23, 2007 succeeding Interim Executive Director, Eileen Brill Wagner, who recently announced her acceptance of an Executive Director position with the Downtown Chandler Community Partnership and Scott Jacobsen, Valley Leadership Executive Director from October 2002 to February 2007.
