This gala luncheon recognizes two distinguished Arizonans who have made impressive contributions to our community. We are delighted to honor Martin L. Shultz and Denise D. Resnik as the 2008 Man & Woman of the Year. Mr. Shultz is the Vice President of Government Affairs for Pinnacle West Capital Corporation and is a respected business and community leader who has served countless business, political, community, and religious organizations in Arizona. Mr. Shultz has been a tireless ambassador for the Valley, and he was a leader in the initial efforts to raise funds to bring TGen to the Valley, In addition, as a passionate advocate for the homeless, he was a driving force behind the campaign to plan the Human Services Campus with Maricopa County, which has been heralded as a model for human services facilities nationwide. Ms. Resnik is the founder of Denise Resnik & Associates. She is also co-founder of the Southwest Autism Research and Resource Center (SARRC) and served as its founding board chair as well as chief fundraiser from 1997 to 2007. Since SARRC’s inception, she has raised more than $35 million for the organization. Today its Campus for Exceptional Children is an 18,000 square-foot facility that serves the needs of children diagnosed with Autism and their families.
